Reiki is an ancient healing method originating in Tibet and was rediscovered by Dr. Mikso Usui, a Christian monk, in the nineteenth century.
Rei-ki is a Japanese word. “Rei” means cosmic or spiritual universal energy and“ki” means fundamental life force flowing and pulsating through all living things.
Thus Reiki means Universal Life Force Energy.
Reiki brings balance. When the body is in a state of balance, the body can heal itself. Reiki works on a physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual level. Reiki provides healing energy to all who seek it.
The laying on of hands by the practitioner directs healing energy into the body. The practitioner acts as a channel for the Universal Life Energy to come through their hands. The practitioner does not use their own energy. When giving Reiki the practitioner does simultaneously receive the Reiki energy. Reiki touch is soft, light, and gentle. It can only have positive results as it is only for the highest good. Reiki balances all energies and is very relaxing.
Reiki is not religious. One can practice any religion and benefit from Reiki. People from all faiths and religions are Reiki Practitioners.
